  • Getting started is easy. Simply reach out to our team by phone or through our website to schedule an initial intake assessment. During this assessment, you'll meet with one of our licensed therapists to discuss your needs, goals, and preferences. From there, we'll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan and match you with the right therapist for your unique journey.

  • We offer a wide range of therapy services to support individuals, couples, and families in their journey towards well-being. Our services include individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, pre-marital counseling, family therapy, women's mental health, men's mental health, teen therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. Our approach is always tailored to your unique needs and goals.

  • As a private pay practice, we do not accept insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits and coverage.

  • The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your unique needs and goals. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and gain momentum in their healing journey. As you progress, your therapist may recommend adjusting the frequency of sessions to bi-weekly or monthly. We'll work closely with you to create a schedule that supports your progress and fits your life.

  • Standard therapy sessions at The Better Center last 50 minutes. This allows ample time for in-depth exploration and meaningful progress, while also fitting comfortably into busy schedules. In some cases, such as for family or couples therapy, we may recommend longer sessions to ensure all parties have the space to be heard and understood.

  • Your first therapy session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to begin building a trusting, collaborative relationship. You'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background and experiences, and your hopes and goals for the therapeutic process. Your therapist will ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of your unique situation and begin developing a personalized treatment plan to support your journey.

  • Finding the right therapist is a crucial part of the healing process. At The Better Center, we prioritize creating strong therapeutic alliances built on trust, empathy, and shared understanding. If at any point you feel that your therapist isn't the right fit, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with them directly. If needed, we're happy to match you with another therapist from our team who may be a better fit for your needs and preferences.

  • Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship and is protected by law. The information you share in therapy is kept strictly confidential, with a few rare exceptions, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by a court order. Your therapist will discuss the limits of confidentiality with you in detail during your first session, so you can feel safe and supported in sharing your experiences.
